We are proud to be Wild Birds Unlimited of Traverse City, a place where the nature of the North is loved, studied, respected and taught. We sell locally grown sunflower; know how to attract the top 10 most wanted birds; and know how to baffle squirrels (for real). And, we have a blast every single day helping our customers attract and know their beautiful wild birds. Barb Norgaard Byrns ~ Owner of WBU & lover of all birds & wildlife. Hobbies: Gardening, Hiking, Sailing, Reading and (of course) Nature.

Tree ~ WBU Store Manager. My earliest memories include waking up at my Grandma's house to the sound of bluejays. She instilled in me a love of nature and to respect all living creatures. I'm known at the store to be "an equal opportunity feeder." If it has feathers or fur it is welcome at our home.  Hobbies: My "Critters" & Birds, Gardening & Antiquing.

Carolyn ~ Animal lover & enthusiastic birder.

Matthew ~ I have loved watching birds/nature with my family for over a decade. Recently, I've been using our Wildlife Blend to watch the deer and birds that feed in my backyard with my relatives, ages 1 yr. old to 71.  Hobbies: Video Games

 

Doug ~ I love feeding the birds in our backyard. After we both retired, my wife and I moved from SE Michigan to Traverse City in 2020. WIld Birds Unlimited in Ann Arbor was my go-to store for bird feeding supplies for more than a decade downstate. Imagine my delight discovering the WBU store in Traverse City! And now I work there. It's a lot of fun, wonderful people to work for and with! We currently have ten feeders in the backyard, and a half dozen more that we cycle in and out depending upon the season. All from WBU, of course!  Hobbies: Bird Feeding, Bird, Wildlife, Landscape & Night Sky Photography, and Observing the Heavens with my homemade telescope.

Tiffani ~ After moving to the woods of northern Michigan 3 1/2 years ago, I started really noticing the birds around me so I made my way into Wild Birds Unlimited to see how I could draw more birds and other wildlife into my yard. Numerous feeders later, I have created a haven for birds and wildlife, including my adorable flying squirrel family! I was in the store so much that they offered me a part time job.  So now I teach at NMC during the school year and spend my summers with my bird family at Wild Birds Unlimited! Hobbies: In my free time, I love to bake for my students and garden to help the birds and pollinators. 

Ashley ~ I'm new to birding. I came into the store in August '24 and wanted to feed my squirrels. Tree (Manager) noticed my excitement and passion to learn and offered me a job.  I love our customers and the relationships I get to build with them.  Hobbies: Rock Hunting, Acrylic Painting & Music.

Rachelle ~ Nature is my happy place. Watching the birds is an activity I can enjoy with my son and family.  It brings us all joy!
